Under the hood, the 2023 CX-9 draws motivation from Mazda's Skyactiv®-G 2.5 Turbo four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque with 93-octane premium fuel (227 hp/310 lb-ft with 87-octane). And for surefooted handling and inclement-weather control, all CX-9 models come standard with Mazda's i-Activ AWD® system.
Interior
The 2023 CX-9 demonstrates Mazda's passion for refinement through an upscale cabin with sleek, modern design details, quality materials, and an intuitive layout. It provides comfortable accommodations for up to seven passengers, with ample headroom and legroom and nicely cushioned and supportive seats. Or, if you don't need the final seatbelt, you can select a six-seat configuration with second-row captain's chairs and either a center walk-through or a center console with cupholders, armrests, and additional storage. Cargo space measures 14.4 cubic feet behind the third row and 38.2 behind the second. When you need maximum capacity for your errands or adventures, you can fold all rear seats to access 71.2 cubic feet.

The 2023 CX-9 equips an attractive 10.25-inch Mazda Connect display, which features intuitive operation via an innovative Multifunction Commander Control.
